MURCAR LINKS GOLF CLUB: Established in 1909 to the design of Archie Simpson, with later refinements made in the 1930_s by the celebrated golf course designer James Braid, it has recently undergone alterations and improvements that are sympathetic to what Simpson and Braid set out to achieve. Voted as the Golf Tourism Scotland “Course of the Year - 2007_. Murcar frequently features in the Top 100 courses in the UK and the Visit Scotland Top 40 Great Scottish Links Collection. In 2006 Murcar hosted the European Challenge Tour's inaugural Scottish Challenge. In 2009 Murcar hosted the European Girls Team Championship and the Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship.
